Stripe Mobile Proxies: QA Checkout and Radar as a US Mobile User
Stripe decides a lot at the client: which wallet buttons appear, whether Link is offered, what Radar thinks of the session, whether 3D Secure is requested. Those decisions read the customer's apparent location and connection class. Testing your own integration from a cloud region shows you a hosting-address version of each. A Mobile Proxies US line shows the US mobile customer's version: one carrier SIM in one US metro, HTTP(S), SOCKS5 and VLESS access, exit IP and rotation in an API. All of this is in Stripe test mode, with Stripe's published test cards.
What Stripe's client side decides from the address
Wallet availability (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link) depends on device, browser and region. Radar's risk evaluation includes the IP's class and geolocation; a hosting ASN raises risk by itself. 3DS requests depend on card, amount and risk. Currency presentation and local payment methods depend on the customer's inferred country. A US carrier address gives Radar and Checkout the inputs a real US mobile customer provides.
Your server's calls to the Stripe API are unaffected and stay on your cloud address; webhooks from Stripe reach your server as usual.
Running Checkout and Elements through the line
Open your test-mode checkout in a browser profile behind the line's HTTP endpoint, or your mobile build in an emulator behind SOCKS5. Use Stripe's test cards and your own test account. Observe the payment method list, wallet buttons, Link prompts and any 3DS challenge. Compare with the same flow from your office connection; the differences are what your US mobile customers see and you do not.
Record the PaymentIntent id, the exit IP and the carrier from the API together. In the Stripe dashboard, Radar's evaluation for that intent will show the IP and its signals; you can now tie them to a carrier and a metro.
Reproducing a declined or challenged customer
A US customer on Verizon in Phoenix reports a challenge loop. Reproduce from a Verizon line in Phoenix with the same browser class and a test card that triggers 3DS. If the loop reproduces, you have a carrier and a metro in the ticket. If not, rotate once and try again, then try AT&T or T-Mobile.
Moving a line between metros is free and keeps the remaining time, so reproducing across two states does not need two purchases.
Reading Radar attributes against the line
Radar exposes attributes such as ip_country and card_country to rules, so a rule comparing the two is the simplest thing to test here. With a US test card and a US carrier address they agree; from your overseas office they do not, and the review path you see is one a US buyer never meets. Load Stripe.js through the line as well, by routing the whole browser, because it gathers its signals on the client.
To tie a result to an address, take the IP on the payment's detail page in the Stripe dashboard and look it up in GET /proxies/UUID/ip-history at that created_at. new_ip_geo tells you what three databases thought of it, which helps when Radar's location differs from the metro you bought. Keep that lookup with the test case.
Rotation, pacing and terms
Rotate between test checkouts, never during one; a mid-checkout address change is a fraud signal and will distort the result you are trying to read. Keep volumes human: a few test payments per address, not hundreds.
Use only Stripe test mode, Stripe's test cards and your own account within Stripe's terms. The line is a test client on a US carrier network. It is not for live payments, real card data or anyone else's account.
Setting up a Stripe proxy on Mobile Proxies US
- Buy a line on the carrier you want to test from, in a US metro.
- Read endpoints and credentials from the API and configure a browser profile or emulator.
- Confirm the exit IP through an echo page and that it is a carrier ASN.
- Run test-mode Checkout and Elements flows with Stripe test cards; log PaymentIntent id, exit IP and carrier per attempt.
- Rotate between attempts; compare Radar evaluations across carriers and metros in the Stripe dashboard.
Stripe proxy questions
Can I use this for live payments?
No. Use Stripe test mode and test cards only. The line is for testing your own integration from a US mobile network.
Why does Radar score differ between my office and the line?
Radar includes IP class and geolocation. A carrier address shared with real subscribers is a different input from an office or hosting address.
Will Apple Pay or Google Pay buttons appear through the line?
They depend on device and browser as well as region. The line fixes the region input; use the right device or emulator for the rest.
