Illinois Mobile Proxy API: Chicago Lines for Test Harnesses

An Illinois line from Mobile Proxies US is a single SIM on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon in a device we run in Chicago, dedicated to one customer for the term. It is reached as an authenticated HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 proxy or over VLESS, and managed through the account API as a line object with list, rotate and status. This page covers how a Chicago address geolocates, the carriers on the Chicago rack, protocol and speed facts, and the prices and plan rules that apply.

Geolocation of a Chicago address

Country United States and state Illinois are reliable on all three carriers. City readings: T-Mobile resolves to Chicago most consistently; AT&T usually Chicago; Verizon draws from a Midwest regional pool whose database entries can name another hub city while the state remains Illinois. Different geolocation vendors can disagree with each other on the city for the same address.

A test harness should assert country, region, connection type and carrier ASN (AS20057, AS21928, AS22394 or AS6167) and record the city. Buy T-Mobile when the city string matters.

The line in your harness

At start-up, call GET /proxies/my and select the Chicago line by licence uuid. Store its endpoints and credentials in the harness configuration, not in test code. Before each run, read GET /proxy/status and verify the exit IP through an echo request; after each run, rotate if the policy calls for it and wait for the new address to settle before the next run begins.

Keep the exit IP, carrier and metro in every test record. A result that differs between runs can then be attributed to an address change, a carrier difference or a code change.

Carriers in Chicago

All three are present. T-Mobile for metro-accurate geolocation and a wide pool; AT&T as a dependable default; Verizon when matching a user report or when regional geolocation does not matter. One line is one SIM and one exit IP shared by its HTTP and SOCKS5 ports. For independent identities use independent lines, each with its own uuid and rotation link.

Chicago is a large, busy market; cell load varies through the day and speeds move with it, as on any phone. The plan figures are upper bounds.

Protocols, speeds and 5G+

HTTP(S) and SOCKS5 (UDP included) on every line; VLESS via the dashboard link for a local xray gateway or a phone client. 4G up to 25 Mbps download, 5G up to 50 Mbps. Device at checkout: 4G/5G USB modem, cellular router or Android phone.

5G+ for 5G lines: $2 a day, $5 a week, $15 a month or $45 per three months; 70 Mbps and above average download on selected 5G lines, not guaranteed; not offered on hourly plans.

Prices and plan rules

4G: $5 a day, $29 a week, $66 a month. 5G: $6 a day, $33 a week, $77 a month. Hourly: 4G $2 for the first two hours then $2 an hour, 5G $3 then $3 an hour, four hours maximum, no auto-renewal; the hours paid count toward the day plan if you keep the line the full day. Card, PayPal, Bitcoin, USDT (TRC-20 included), Ethereum, Zelle and bank wire; instant activation.

Data is not metered. Fair use: a heavy day is 60 GB in one UTC day, counted over the plan period; six heavy days are logged; the seventh brings a warning; from the eighth the line is slowed to 20 Mbps until a clean UTC day passes; from the tenth it is held at 18 Mbps for the rest of the period.

Common Illinois jobs

Acceptance tests of apps and web flows as an Illinois mobile user; state-dependent pricing, tax and availability checks; reproducing Chicago user reports on the right carrier; Midwest mobile latency to hosting regions; verifying your own ads, listings and local pages as served in Illinois. Your own accounts, within each platform's terms.

Illinois proxy questions

Does a Chicago line read as Illinois on every carrier?

Yes for state and country. The city reads Chicago most reliably on T-Mobile; Verizon may name a regional hub.

Can I rotate from CI?

Yes. Use the line's rotation link in a CI step (a GET, no key), stored as a CI secret. Wait for the new exit IP before the tests start.

What happens to the harness when the plan ends?

The line returns to stock and /proxy/status returns 404 for its uuid. List lines at start-up and compare with your configuration to catch it early; renew in the dashboard.

Is the Chicago line sold with a data limit?

No. There is no data meter. Only the fair-use rule for repeated 60 GB UTC days applies.
